Hometown care beyond compare...since 2003!

Welcome to the Stay at Home Blog

I am sure many of you have heard of or seen the movie, Bridget Jones’s Diary. Well, I would like to welcome you to Stay at Home’s new blog, Bridget Day’s Diary! I am excited about this chance to share my experiences as a caregiver, and highlight some of my favorite clients that I have had the privilege to serve over the years.

I would like to tell you a bit about myself first. I am a native Ohioan, and moved to North Carolina 17 years ago to raise my family in Wake Forest. I enjoyed several positions with a local senior community, and also cared for my brother-in-law’s great Aunt Mary. During that time, I realized that I enjoyed individualized care, a one-on-one ratio, rather than having several seniors under my supervisory care.

As Aunt Mary’s needs grew, Stay at Home was called in to help, and I met Deborah. I was intrigued with the company, and the more I learned about it, the more I liked it. I joined Stay at Home more than eight years ago, and have been more than blessed since.

I have come to more fully enjoy seniors throughout the years, learning about their lives (then and now), family values, beliefs, and love of God and country. I hold each senior in high regard for their life’s accomplishments. The individual relationships that are created and nurtured between a Stay at Home caregiver and their senior client creates a special bond that forms a unique type of family, especially with seniors that have greater needs.

I am thankful to God that I have found a career that fulfills my heart’s passion. Writing is another passion of my heart. I have written on a variety of genres, and hope one day to become a published book author of fiction. I have also written several informative articles and a few poetic pieces on-line.

I look forward to sharing more with you soon. Be well and God bless!
